VecVox is a homebrew speech synthesizer that plugs in the second joystick port of the Vectrex. A VecVox normally comes uncased but recently I had some spare time and after finding a pair of old passive PC speakers in my loft I thought incorporating my original VecVox cicuit board into one of the speaker cabinets would make a nice project. So out came the drill, file and soldering iron, and with a new pushbutton switch, 9 pin D socket and 3mm LED I produced what I will call the "VectrexMad! Productions VecVox Deluxe" :) In the video you will first see the VecVox working in its default mode which makes use of the built in SpeakJet chip. VecVox also emulates VecVoice an earlier homebrew speech synthesiser. To make VecVox behave as VecVoice the pushbutton on the top of the speaker cabinet needs to be momentarily pushed down during switching on power to the Vectrex. The video then shows Verzerk which is hacked version of Berzerk made to operate with a VecVoice.
