Knowledge obtained through Research is the cornerstone of the work at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. For three decades, Institute members have asked questions no one else was asking. And the answers they found, documenting geographic and ethnic variations in the delivery and quality of care, increasing over diagnosis and over treatment of patients, improved outcomes and cost savings through shared decision making, quality improvement, and new approaches to systems of care, have radically changed understanding of our health care systems.
