This is a wave tank simulation that interacts with the real world. Objects on the surface (e.g. a thick catalogue) are recognized and behave like walls/solid objects, so waves float around them. So you can, for instance, create a double slit experiment (2:33) (With physically correct results!).
Based on my Kinect object recognition and processing library ObjectTable, which will be released in two weeks on Sourceforge. The simulation code is taken out of my WaveSimulation Application (http://sourceforge.net/projects/waves...)
