I try to get into OM once again with Advaitic Songs, but it just didn't happen, sadly.

What did you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?

Man, you're really missing the boat with Om. All their albums are very good at least, but God is Good and Advaitic Songs are terrific. Hypnotic, trippy, meditative and, at times, very heavy. Can't understand how you can find fault with Al's bass playing and the bass lines he comes up with. I'd say he's one of the best bassists in Rock right now. The bass parts were always one of the best parts of Sleep's sound and he's only continued to progress and develop with Om.

According to you, Al Cisnero's vocals are "campy, fake, and unappealing"...right....you really don't understand this kind of music. It's okay, not everyone does.

When he said "more of a high on fire guy" I knew we were in for a rough ride...

Wow... I find Om mindblowingly addicting, trippy and relaxing. I'd give this a strong 8 for sure.

I was a bit surprised by Anthony's review of this album. But then again, Om is not a band you can easily review and make sense of that other's will understand. It's like trying to tell people what its like to do acid for the first time. I commend the fact that he even reviewed this band in the first place. This band is not your typical band, and it's evidenced as you listen to the sounds. You either love it or don't pay attention to it. As a lover of Om, I feel this album should get a higher rating. The music is hypnotic, the vocals are monotone, but it's for a reason, as is the drone of the sound they create. They are mind music, not defined music ;)
