Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa discusses how he and his team discovered an enzyme key to the survival and spread of glioblastoma cancer cells that are not present in healthy brain cells. Studies have shown that inhibiting this enzyme is sufficient to decrease the growth and migratory capacity of glioblastoma cells both in vitro and in a mouse model.
