This symposium honors Daniel J. Raskin who was a highly skilled human-factors investigator on the National Transportation Board (NTSB) and a tireless advocate for transportation safety and injury prevention. Daniel was killed as a volunteer firefighter in 1990 by a preventable explosion offaulty equipment. The symposium is endowed by the Raskin family as a tribute to his life’s work. The goal is to educate public health professionals and the broader community about current research, policy, and programs to reduce injury.
