76TH ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES
(AFP) DAY CELEBRATION
AFP General Headquarters Grandstand

President Benigno S. Aquino III thanked the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for their sacrifices in helping the people during calamities and in supporting all the government's programs and reforms during the 76th anniversary celebration of the AFP in Camp Aguinaldo.

Despite many trials and challenges in the AFP, the President also declared that the government would continue to push for its equipment modernization and provide for the needs of every Filipino soldier.

President Aquino also led the awarding of 14 deserving personnel who contributed to the advancement and promotion of the Armed Force's Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) 'Bayanihan'.

The 14 awardees coming from both the military and civilian workforce were given AFP medals, they are Cpl Isagani Zamora, PN/Marines (posthumous); BGen. Nestor Añonuevo; 1Lt Guy Ray Madrid (PA); Cpl Abraham Parreño (PA); MGen. Francisco Cruz Jr.; Col Oscar Lactao (PA); RAdm Edgardo Tamayo; Ret.
