An old level which is good for the era. This old level is a techbase, and remains that way the entire time, apart from a very small ocurrence of red stone, so it's got consistency going for it. It's also not as easy as most of its contemporaries, because there are many shotgunners in this base, and you don't get any armor until late in the map. It's straightforward and linear, up until near the end of the level when you have to find a hidden elevator. Unlike in other old levels, this is clued, albeit in a way which isn't immediately obvious. Better than not being marked at all, I suppose.

Doing max demos on this level is pretty easy. The route in my demo is based off of the one used by Albert Valls to get 3:20, but I made a few changes to optimize certain scenes. For instance, I kill the zombies at the start with less shells than he did, and stay on one side of the area so I can reach the imps faster. I also flip the switch opening the exit door room /as/ I fight the cacodemon rather than afterward, so the enemies in that room bunch up together and allow me to kill them faster. Those are just two obvious examples, and I'm certain there are more. Overall, I cut 23 seconds off of his time. My previous exit was 3:10.
