Travel journalist, Ian Cross, takes to the road for a series of short reports on people, places and events across the globe – The Grassroots Tour.

In Fiji, Ian reports on the capital Suva and its colourful market, cannibal souvenirs you can buy, the sugar industry and the concept traditional land ownership in the country.

In Australia, Ian reports on the changing face of Brisbane, the architectural history and style of the capital, Canberra and takes an historic walk through the centre of Sydney.

And in Bali, Ian takes a day trip out of the cultural capital, Ubud, into the hills to the village of Tampaksiring, in search of the real Bali. In two pan regional reports Ian looks at boutique hotels to stay in the Pacific region, and in ‘’Remnants of the Raj’’ the legacy of British colonialism in Australia and Singapore.
