reconvergencethefilm.com Reconvergence At the core of humankinds ethos is an ongoing struggle to come to terms with the impermanence of self and to find ones place within the context of history. At the dawn of the 21st century, First World cultures find themselves in the midst of a series of technological revolutions that have radically destabilized traditional attitudes toward death, the interpretation of history, and the role of the individual in society. Reconvergence explores the worlds of four different characters, a naturalist, a historian, a writer and a neuroscientist, as they struggle to create meaning in their lives, come to terms with mortality, and define their own trajectory within the litany of human history. The film uses interview footage, participatory footage and carefully selected archival imagery to create unity between the films separate story arcs and form powerful correlations between the films central themes of mortality, consciousness, reality and the individual in society.
