My 300th Jump! This was a 12 way sunset tracking dive. After flipping over the leader, someone else flipped over to become the new leader. This person and the person who initially flipped them formed another dive. The rest of the people including myself remained following the original leader. When everyone was fanning out at break-off time paths crossed as a result of these events and this collision occurred. As you can see it took place very quickly with no warning. I have not included any names on purpose and not posting this to point fingers or blame anyone. I am posting this for learning purposes so we can have saver skydives; AND OF COURSE most importantly the entertainment purposes of watching an insane in air crash. Both myself and the other individual involved in the collision are ok. He has a sore neck and I have a gash is my side from a camera mount on his helmet and we are both just generally banged up. His head struck my side and as you can see in the picture at the end the impact ripped his helmet off! It is a good this was not a direct impact, I could only speculate what would have happened!! I won't soon forget my 300th Jump!! A thank you to everyone who helped and provided much needed ice packs, you are the best! (In the video is slightly more zoomed in than the full gopro view, the full view shows that I am facing the sun and he appears suddenly and would not have been able to be spotted any sooner, some situations go wrong long before the actual incident..Be Safe, Make Good Decisions!)
