WildCats Conservation Alliance’s: "WildCats is proud to share news from Russia where for the first time in decades Amur leopards are now thought to number more than 100. In the 1980’s rapid industrialisation in Vladivostok, and heavily depleted prey between the Russia-China borders meant Amur leopard populations had dwindled to a small, vulnerable population of ~35 individuals.

This population growth and stabilisation is a direct result of all the hard work being done collaboratively by a number of organisations to monitor and protect these animals, and the tougher laws that have been implemented to combat wildlife crime." (2018)

LYRICS:
"On the mountain slopes of Jilin, in an eastern forest afar, an Amur leopard was hunting under the morning star.
Her catch would feed her precious cubs, give them strength to grow; becoming noble kings and queens of the thick white winter snow.
Following her victim's trail, she heard a distant sound, soaring closer through the woods, determined to surround.
Hateful humans, with sticks of death, stared her in the eye; until they fired a thousand shots, urging her last cry.

Pictures of her offspring kept circling through her mind, as she slowly vanished, leaving life behind.
A handful left and one more down, when will it ever stop? Destruction is our flight of stairs, ascending to the top.
But when we shall look down one day on what we left behind, a barren earth, a lifeless world, is all that we shall find.
So let us raise our voices to save and to preserve, all living beings, all that breathe, with the love that they deserve."
