University of Minnesota PhD candidate Brian Skinner explains his new paper called "The Price of Anarchy in Basketball." Brian presented the research at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. The paper wrestles with reality that giving the ball to your best offensive player every time down the floor is not the best offensive strategy. He also uses the examples of how traffic models work to explain how the game of basketball can be more effectively played.
