Lalah Hathaway is the daughter of the late legendary R&B songwriter/composer/singer Donnie Hathaway. She made a decent impression with her debut album, Lalah Hathaway, in 1990, that had the good songs, 'Somethin' 'Heaven Knows', and 'Baby Dont Cry'.
In 1994, Hathaway followed up her success with her sophomore album, A Moment, which produced the song' 'Let Me Love You'. In 1999, Hathaway, released a collaboration album, The Song Lives On, with jazz artist Joe Sample, which brought excellent reviews among Jazz critics. Her next album, Out Run the Sky, released in 2004, also brought good views from the Smooth Jazz, and Easy Listening R&B crowd. Hathaway returned with her fifth album, Self-Portrait, in 2008, that features the hits, 'Let Go' and 'That Was Then'. She is also songwriter and composer in her own right. Hathaway has collaborated with the likes of Jazz, R&B, and Gospel artists such as Will Downing, Gerald Albright, Sandra St. Victor, Nona Hendryx, Take 6, Donald Lawrence, Mary J. Blige, The Winans, and Marcus Miller.
