Year: 1994 Platform: PC (386)

During the summer of '94, we organized the first Wired party. To have some cool prizes for the competition, we talked one of the local computer deal store, M.S.I., into giving some prices and making a demonstration of VCD movies at the party place. After the party, the guy was sold to the idea of having his own branded demo to wish his customers a happy new year.

So we went to work, recycling some previous effects, coding some new ones and being inspired overall by the some of the demos of that era, Second Reality/FC you name it. Beside the funky writter, it features my first try at serious 3D with a gouraud shaded logo. It was coded in TPascal again with lots of asm inline, it really grown on me while coding this that I would need to move to something else langage wise (whatever that might be) that keep hacking like this. White Tiger reused his superb shadebobs from Genesia and really pushed the limit higher with the vector dots. First rotozoom for me. Wildcat blessed us with outstanding graphics and watching this demo again some many years after, that the first thing that striked me: wow this had some serious style in it.

Was the computer shop guy happy ? Actually no because we delivered it well past the date we should have and so we never got paid for the job. Lesson learned.
