From Episode 1725, where beloved PBS star LeVar Burton (the voice of Kwame from Captain Planet, Martin Luther King Jr. from Our Friend Martin, Geordi LaForge from Star Trek: the Next Generation, Kunta Kinte from Roots, and the host of Reading Rainbow), visits Mister Rogers' Neighborhood to share with him his acting career as well as a book about being a daddy.
At the beginning of this episode, Mister Rogers said that he and LeVar got to be friends because they are both interested in making television programs for children.
It's so wonderful to see my two favorite PBS icons together, as well as to see them being such good friends, especially since they have both been a great part of my childhood, growing up with both Mister Rogers' Neighborhood AND Reading Rainbow, two beloved, great, and nostalgic PBS shows . . . But you don't have to take MY word for it. ;)
