The 4th flight of my super cub, to much wind, not enough experience and that lead to my big crash. these are the crashes and repair job.
PS the front tires will need a axle insert to fit the smaller landing gear on the Cub. While at the hobby store just get a small length of brass tube that fits snug into the wheel core, cut it a little longer then the width of the hub so you can clean up the edges and burrs, then put a little glue in the hub and slide your brass axle insert into the wheel, then you'll have a great looking Tire and still be loose enough to spin but not wobble. I also used a set of nylon lock nuts from a 40 class airplane to secure the new wheels on my super cub.
Just remember to tighten the nuts just enough to let the wheel spin but not wobble or bind.
Not included in this video is the fact that i also broke the empennage (the tail section the rudder and stablizers are attached to) I used a little Loctite Sumo, Made a tape clamp and made sure the tail was straight, taped it and 12 hours later, Life is good again..
Sorry bout the novel :)
