9/23/09: Having trouble getting through to the DS for its track authority needed further south, CSX southbound manifest Q409-23 makes its daily trek south on the River Line as it passes over the Iona Trestle and onto the famed Iona Island, as seen through-the-trees from Bike Trail No. 9, located off of US 9W. This train will ultimately terminate in Waycross, GA, as it still has a long way to go from its nearby origin at the massive yard in Selkirk, NY.

Immediately upon leaving this spot to head home, a southbound ethanol train made its way through CP-43 unidentified over the radio, and just in time for me to see it all the way across the river in Fort Montgomery. Lets just say I pissed off a few drivers when I slammed the breaks at the 9W View area and parked on the shoulder to shot this thing rolling by under Anthonys Nose. If it wasnt on a restricted signal because of the close-by Q409, I would not have been able to make to this spot to shoot the train in time. Shot on CSXs River Subdivision in NYs Hudson Valley.
