I see it all the time. Someone gets a check engine light. To save money they take the car to aurozone or read the codes with a code reader. The code description is for a flow problem with the EGR. They replace EGR and the light comes back on.
Any EGR trouble code relating to LOW FLOW or NO FLOW does not indicate a bad EGR. The code relates to flow from the EGR to the intake. Remove EGR and throttlebody and clean the ports with intake cleaner and a scribe or snake. Also check for leaking gaskets or lines but usualy the system is just CLOGGED with hard carbon. Remove clog and flow will return and your light will not come back on.
