My tractors. The Bolens 1050 with a 10 hp Wisconsin engine. And a Jacobsen Chief 1200 with a 14 hp Kohler engine. For now only the Bolens is used for plowing heavy loads of wet snow, while the Jacobsen needs a carb job to be ready for some work.
Even though the Jacobsen has more hp it is not performing as well as the Bolens, wich are shaft driven and have the option to lock the posi, besides it has some serious tire chains with spikes on. Stops for nothing. I had to back up the tractor from running over the plow. I know at least one other incident where that happened. Amazing power from the Wisconsin engine.
The Jacobsen and the Bolens have the same axl length and are somewhat even in size, but the Bolens weighs in about 100 lbs more than the Jacobsen.
The Jacobsen has a bigger rear than the Bolens, it is wider. Tha front axl on the Jacobsen looks to be bigger and also wider than the Bolens.
The instrument panel on the Jacobsen is far more to it than the Bolens, for what that counts for, besides looking better. I will make a vid showing these great tractors drag, The Bolens VS The Jacobsen. 10 hp Wisconsin VS 14 hp Kohler
I´m pretty sure what the outcome will be...
Please leave a comment what you think the outcome will be. I will load up the vid as soon as it is ready.
