The IFAB has approved two goal-line systems, including Hawkeye and GoalRef, to be tested before July 2. Hawkeye is a high-speed camera based system while GoalRef uses magnetic field and a special ball to determine a goal situation. Both systems send a decision signal within a second when the ball crosses the line to the referee to help him aid the judgement. The referee then has the power to make the final call.
