The penultimate song from my third album, "Footprint" (2006).
Originally written on piano but I think it works better on guitar, so here's the second outing for my new Takamine TF430SS.
At 4:27 this is one of the longest songs I've put onto YouTube (I think the album version comes in at a gargantuan five and a half minutes!!)...usually I've run out of steam (and interest) by about 3:45.
The video was recorded in my kitchen with me sitting on "the table of inspiration"....rather a grand name for a lump of cheap pine, I agree.... but I've written (or at least started to write) pretty much every song in the last 5 years sitting on that table looking out at the lane running past my house....not much happens out there and I like it that way.
The t-shirt was again provided by AJ Stone from Tucson.....very much appreciated.

Blue Sky

There's a blue sky, I can see it through my window
There's a warm sun, I can feel it on my face
There's a cool breeze high up in the tree-tops
You and your black cloud don't belong here in this place

There's a palm tree, there's a jug of margarita
Pacific Ocean lapping gently at my feet
It's been so long since I felt this close to heaven
'Til you and your black cloud cast your shadow over me

CHORUS
You can always find a way to bring me down
So I think its best that you don't come around

Yeah, you chased the sunshine far away
And it won't come back, baby, if you stay
So the time has come for me to say.....just go

There was a blue sky, I could see it through my window
And as for the warm sun, no longer feel it on my face
Now there's a cold, cold wind blowing through my lonely heart tonight
It's you and your black cloud and there's no
There's no silver lining inside

CHORUS
You can always find a way to bring me down
So I think its best that you don't come around
You can always find a way to bring me down
So I think its best that you don't come around
