Google honors Charles Addams with a "horror" doodle. Charles Addams was an American cartoonist. He was known for his black humor and macabre characters. Since 1932 his Cartoons regularly appeared in The New Yorker, a famous amarican magazin.

Charles Addams was born 1912 in Westfield, New Jersey - 100 years ago. His father encouraged him to draw - and he did it really well. But his sense for morbide and macabre scenes was unusual.

The Google logo shows some of his figures. Years later they were called "Addams Family". Addams typical Victorian buildings were an inspiration Alfred Hitchcocks ("Psycho") and Edward Hopper. He died on September 29, 1988.

Happy Birthday, Charles Addams.
