Gay rights will get a massive boost in 2013 after the Socialist's French election win this weekend. Gay weddings and trans identity reforms will be the first of many improvements for French citizens.

Australian marriage equality activists are preparing for a defeat in parliament. Both the Prime Minister and opposition leader are against equality.

Claudio Marchisio has spoken out in favour of gay marriage and in defence of Antonio Cassano, who said he hoped there were 'no queers' on the Italian soccer team. Marchisio said "Sometimes he does naive things."

Six EU leaders have refused to attend EURO 2012 in the Ukraine in protest over proposed anti-gay legislation. AllOut.org's director said, "Leaders are telling Ukraine that they cannot reap the benefits of the European community while rejecting its commitment to human rights,"

And finally, Alan Cadogan won the 2012 Mr Australasian Bear title on Saturday. VicBears president Rob Camm said, "He has a strong sense of community and is keen to be involved."
