Originally a country and western song written by Hank Thompson, "The Time Jumpers" and Vince Gill give "Six Pack to Go" a performance which might be called be a cross between the blues and western swing. The group performed this tune at 8:43 AM on February 13, 2013 in New York City on the "Imus in the Morning" radio and TV program. It was rebroadcast two days later on the Fox Business Network, which is the source for this post. The video is cropped to eliminate financial information displayed by Fox at the bottom of the screen. Judging by two other performances of this tune which can be seen on YouTube, the group frequently plays it in the key of F. This performance, however, is in the key of E--and at a slower tempo. After Vince Gill sings the first chorus, each of the players in the front line gets to solo for at least eight bars, and then, Vince Gill takes two great choruses to close it out--the first with his ax, the second with those marvelous vocal chords.
