When Justus Johnston attempted the Ys IV dubbing project in 2004 with us, this was the actress that he found to play the character of Karna. I thought she did an excellent job, but unfortunately, since they didn't finish all of Karna's lines at the time, this actress' voice can't be included in the new dub now headed by BurntLasagna (Mike)... I don't know who the new actress is, so to be clear, this is not the voice you'll hear for Karna when the upcoming dub patch goes public, but nonetheless, I thought I'd post these defunct samples to keep 'em from being lost in the oblivion of history. ;)
The recorded wave files were resampled to 16000 Hz (mono), properly sized to match the original Japanese extracts, and then were encoded to 4-bit OKI ADPCM (the format used by NEC hardware/games) using the SOX (Sound Exchange) utility/program (recently discovered thanks to Charles McDonald!) which does a great job in the conversion process, better than the prior custom software that David Shadoff had created for this project back in '04. Anyway, again, these lost dub samples for Karna are just here for history's sake, they won't appear in the final dub patch though it sure would've been nice...
