Martha Attridge Bufton is a graduate student in the Master of Arts: History program at Carleton. She has successfully defended her thesis and is scheduled to graduate in June, 2014. Her topic for the Carleton 3MT competition was Radical Roses: Women, Unions, and Social Justice at Carleton University (1973 - 1976).

Martha took first place at the 2014 competition and also won the Audience Choice award. She will represent Carleton at the 2014 Provincial 3MT championship at McMaster University in April.

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition challenges graduate students to present the main idea of their master's or PhD research in three minutes or less. Judges evaluate participants on their ability to effectively and succinctly communicate their research to a general audience. For more information on 3MT at Carleton, visit: http://bitly.com/3MTGRF
