More than 3,000 students from across 24 countries gathered in Rotterdam to run their ultra efficient vehicles in the Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2012. Vehicles powered by gasoline, diesel, ethanol, hydrogen fuel cell, solar and battery electric took to the street circuit around the Ahoy in Rotterdam for three days of intensive competition. Peter Voser, CEO Shell, opened the event as well as The Lab where visitors could learn about about innovation and the future of energy.
