These are the first images of the discovery and exploration of the 283' Steamer New York in Lake Huron by the Undersea Research Associates team (URA). The New York was the largest steamship in the Great Lakes when launched in 1879. This is also the story of the amazing rescue the New York's captain and crew by Steamer Mataafa that "risk it all" in the raging gale to save their fellow mariners. The secrets of the New York are uncovered in the underwater exploration of this historically significant ship. It is Great Lakes adventure, at it's best!
