Having grown up under the influence of the hip hop movement, Canadian producer Maxime Miville happened upon a fork in the road and chose the path towards electronic music around the beginning of the millennium.

He first began dabbling with the sample-heavy side of electronic music when he discovered the sound and breaks of the now infamous Ninja Tune record label. By also having many techno deejays as friends, it wasn't long until his interest in techno flourished and his production style followed suit. In 2008, after much practice and a lot of research and inspiration, the Archipel Music label, forced him out of seclusion by promptly signing him up for his first techno release. Since then he has gone on to appear on Monsieur, Aenaria, Strange Town and Eyesys. With his 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell" single he makes his debut on Canada's excellent Wide Angle Recordings.

Wide Angle has been releasing some of the most amazing melodic techno over the last few years from the likes of: Dual Shaman, Blake Sutherland, Mattheis and many others. Blake's 'Eighteen' and Mattheis' 'Brain Recovering' from a few years back still standout in our minds for their classic and timeless melodic lines. Maxime's 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' is the nineteenth release on the label and is surely one of the best thus far. The 'Don't Ask' original is based around a solid techno groove with superb glitchy sound design, melancholic melodic lines and a nice airy atmosphere that gives the track a great sense of space. Max Cooper has been delivering jaw dropping productions over the course of the last year and is one of the most sought after techno producers at the moment. His 'Don't Ask' remix certainly does not disappoint. Max has taken the best elements from the original and turned the track into a throbbing melodic techno masterpiece that is absolutely drenched in atmosphere. The character and uniqueness of Max's productions is truly unbelievable and it shines though here once again. The EP is closed off with a second original 'Don't Tell' which is another amazing melodic techno piece that will surely stand the test of time because of it's overall unique, This is an amazing release form Maxille and Wide Angle, it spent more than 2 straight weeks at the top of the Release Promo Hype Chart and we suggest you go pick it up today at Beatport!
