Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust protected the 72-acre Gale Farm in 2009. Lately, the pasture, which is used by oxen in summer has been frequented by an even larger ungulate, a cow moose dubbed Clementine by the neighbors.
Gale Farm, now called Tully Meadow Farm by its new owners, serves as a land bridge that connects the 1,200-acre Tully Mountain Wildlife Management Area to the Warwick State Forest, providing a contiguous habitat of thousands of acres of protected land in the towns of Athol, Orange, Royalston, and Warwick, Massachusetts.
