ArcelorMittal, Cargolux, CFL, Enovos, LuxairCARGO, Paul Wurth and SES decided to support UNICEF famine relief efforts and offer assistance by funding the air transportation costs of 105 tons of life-saving nutritional supplies for the famine-ravaged Horn of Africa region. Shipped from Luxembourg to Nairobi, the aircraft took off from Luxembourg Airport on Friday, the 12th of August at 12.30 A.M. The relief flight from Luxembourg contained Corn Soya Blend (CSB), a mix of partially precooked and milled cereals, soya, beans and pulses fortified with vitamins and minerals. Cooked with water as porridge, the supplies will feed approximately 6.500 acutely malnourished children in South Somalia for a month.
