Is Lobelia Sackville-Baggins really on her way over to tea, expecting a snack? Join Fili as she hastily prepares some scones for her "guest"! Recipe below:

SCOTTISH OAT SCONES

2/3 cup of butter or margarine, melted
1/3 cup of milk
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups Quick Quaker Oats, uncooked
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (or fruit)

Combine all dry ingredients then add butter, milk and egg. Mix until just moistened. Stir in chocolate chips or fruit. Shape the dough into a ball and pat out into a circle on a floured surface. Slice into wedges and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 425 F for 12 or 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Great for breakfast, second breakfast, and afternoon tea!
