Peter, Great Harwood's Town Crier, and the Mayoral party paraded to the edge of the kerb and the police stopped the traffic at two minutes to nine. When the clock completed it's striking of nine, Peter then Cried the fair (read the town's charter). They then paraded up Church St followed by the Mayoral party and others to Bank Mill House for tea and biscuits (OK - just tea).
