Anti-government forces in Syria claimed to have shot down a government jet in eastern Syria. Video footage showed the plane, believed to be a MiG 23, bursting into flames near the town of al-Muhassan. Rebels claim to have shot down the aircraft using anti-aircraft weapons. Syrian state media said the plane crashed due to a technical error during a training mission and said a search was being conducted for the pilot.
