More than 130 Penn students volunteered to clean up the banks of the Delaware River at Neshaminy State Park Sept. 19 on the first of six days of service under the Year of Water theme for the academic year 2010-11. Penn's student Eco-Reps, the Undergraduate Assembly and community service groups in the College Houses led the clean-up effort, along with United By Blue, a local organic clothing manufacturer.

Clean-ups continue throughout the week at Bartram Gardens, Pennypacker State Park and other sites along the Schuylkill and Delaware waterways, sponsored by additional student and staff organizations.

Additional information about this project and the entire list of Year of Water themed activities is available at www.upenn.edu/about/spotlights_river_rescue.php.
