Space is tight anywhere in public space here in Delhi, and typically aggressive, so doubly less inviting towards females. In newspapers of Hazare supporters down south, I can see plenty of women and girls occupying these spaces. Here in Delhi, however, the crowd was only spotted with all genders and as I took the metro home, I could not help but let my mind wonder about how gender segregation in both the metro and the protest were tied. I stand here in solidarity with all those who are able to express the civil right to protest, and feel the human spirit of engaging governence from the ground up.
