According to a SEMPO Research Committee study on Search Marketer Salaries, the average salary dropped from 75,000 to 68,000. Nathan Safran, Director of Research, Conductor, Inc., and Marc Engelsman, VP, Client Programs and Services, Digital Brand Expressions share some of their thoughts on what drove this decrease.

Two likely possibilities discussed were the increase in junior level search marketers entering the industry and the shift to agencies and away from in-house.
