Norcross became the first police department in Georgia to launch a real-time crime prediction tool from a company called PredPol (short for "predictive policing"). Paid for with seized drugs funds, Norcross' new technology uses existing crime data (location, type of crime, dates, times, etc.) to analyze where specific crimes are most likely to occur. It may sound like the plot for a science-fiction thriller, but in Norcross, it's already made a real difference in how effectively police fight local crime.
