Karen biondo of La Biondo Farm and Kitchen shows us a shed that serves as both a cold smoker and a composting toilet. What a wacky combination!
Karen smokes pork and salmon in the cold smoker. She uses alder in an old wood stove for the smoker.
Then you step around the corner and there is a composting toilet. No smell/stink. She says the secret to keeping the smell away is the use of peat moss or wood shavings. Apparently it goes three or four months between needing to be emptied.
