St. Stephen's visits our partner school, Ecole St. Etienne, at Salmadere in Haiti's rural central plateau twice a year. This small, K-8 school for 150 students was built with funds raised by St. Stephen's students and parents. Recently, the partnership resulted in a well being dug in the school yard. The well services families who live within a mile radius of the school, and it has reduced water-born disease rates there significantly.

The five year partnership between the two schools has included visits to Haiti each year, the building of the new school which has our school's name; the digging of a well at the rural school's site; and the beginnings of an orchestra program for the children of Haiti.
