Basically simulates the external lights of a 747. All behaviour(e.g. Ive included a circuit which models whether plane is in air or on the ground as several lights natures change depending on this),timings, numbers and coloursof the lights are accurate and greatly researched. Timing circuit used for strobes and beacons uses a 555 timer running to a 4017b chip. Mounting box was made out of mdf and woodglued. art work was designed, using the theme of the original 747 styling ,on a paint program, laminated and then scored and holes cut with a compass cutter. switches used were toggle tipped apart from where more than one pole was used and thus i was resigned to others. i used breadboard in the end although soldered many of the switches. Ive included the design in the form of a stripboard layout however. Ive made a document going into the whole build in more depth-not included here which e.g. describes the stripboard layout in full detail. I opted to mount the design as I have not using a model of a 747 as wiring is not so much tricky as messy here where needing to mount leds to parts of the model that aren't hollow. I hope this is of benefit to someone..I'd be very surprised if there was some other similar project as this.and I had to research alot to get to where I have. There are improvements certainly that could be made...e.g. mount the leds to a greatly sized model but for now I've reached a fair point. Music by me. Hope you enjoy...
