Chad Runyon is a film, television and theatre actor pursuing an MFA at the Hollins University Playwright's Lab. His recent credits include a lead role in the feature film UNAVAILABLE (2012) and a supporting role in the TV pilot EDDIE (2012). As part of an intensive independent study, Runyon worked closely with playwright W. David Hancock to bring to life the character of Desiree in the world premier of BOOTH
at Studio Roanoke in 2011 and reprised the role in a reading of Hancock's sequel to that play, SECONDS, during the 2011 summer session at Hollins University. He also works on the acting team for Effective Arts, a high-stakes interaction consulting group whose mission includes work with organ donation centers around the nation and abroad.

He also performed in the world premier productions of Yes, Svetlana, There is a Grandfather Frost (Jeff Goode) and Ashville (Lucy Thurber) at Studio Roanoke. Chad has been a regular writer and performer at No Shame since first attending in 2009, crediting this unique venue with inspiring his passion for theatre. Runyon served as the General Manager and Development Director for Studio Roanoke during the 2009-2010 season. His arts administration expertise has made him an important liaison between the Playwright's Lab and our community partners. He currently serves as a student representative on the New Works Advisory Board of the Graduate Program in Playwriting of Hollins University.
