http://www.tytyga.com/category/Banana.... Cold Hardy Texas Star Banana Plants Grow all over the United States and have survived temperatures down to minus 16 degrees F. outdoors in Wichita Falls, Texas during the freeze of 1982, and then grew back to produce bananas the next growing season. This Cold Hardy Texas Star Banana plant grows about 6-8' tall when mature with very long and wide deep green leaves that cover the plant. The bananas are sweet and tastier than the grocery store bananas with about three-fourths the size fruit as Central American bananas. Numerous offset bananas can result beginning in June and continuing until September that will bring a rapid increase in a nursery banana tree inventory.
