Wasting Money. The blame for cost of live music tickets sometimes. An LW Business Advisor Speaker and Author Video Blog.

Wasting money is a big part of many artists, labels, promoters and venues all over the world. This is more so with those that have the money to waste or think they have the money to waste.

When it comes to concert events at a live music venue, the concert promotions or the actual shows, when an artist requests the crazy backstage extras or makes their stage show a virtual playground of lights, platforms and props, someone has to pay for it. Sometimes, it is the fault of the artist, yet no one wants to think that.

In a Yahoo article that just came out, the writer discussed a Niki Minaj concert and her excessive and crazy demands. Now Niki Minaj is making a lot more than most, but the days of excess need to be dialed back. Concert goers have drastically reduced in their numbers and the profits from shows that were often based around the sales of an album or a single also have incredibly dropped.

Smaller tours where the artist goes crazy with the rider requests are being cut back and artists are needing to learn to live with a little less. A solid music business plan with reasonable backstage requests needs to be considered by the small artists but also the larger ones too.

Otherwise, these fees and costs will need to be paid for by some one and those some ones are going to be looking to make back that money spent, in turn, upping the ticket prices and putting the cost on you.

Kind of common sense, but I think sometimes too much of the blame goes either on ticket master, the labels, the managers and other parties when some of the blame should be directed at the artist that is taking it just too far.
