Harper's people cannot go off script, not even if changes have changed and it makes them look bad. They don't dare. Harper holds them on a tight leash, and now he commands a majority!

Things have changed around me in recent years. Cars who drive right by even as you're crossing a sidewalk—forcing you to stop before you are hit and killed. People throwing garbage out their windows, littering their own neighbourhoods—which tourists treat with more respect! I took a walk yesterday (after Election Day) and looked around. Most people appeared unconcerned by the results, and only a few appeared concerned.

When gifts, money or favours are offered for your vote, how could you so easily sell out your country? There are those who would: the self-interested, cynical type. The ones who think the world revolves around them, and the ones who think no one gives a damn about them and so it would be foolish to care about them. Many people are shocked, but many others couldn't care less. Others are celebrating as if their favourite team won the Stanley Cup. This is not a game, the results are devastating for our country.

But these people couldn't care less. Therefore, we have to care more.

New Canadian just can't believe in a Harper majority
