I want to point out that a lot of Americans drive daily, yet don't pick up any where near the skill of a race driver. I think the issue is that most honestly don't care about driving. I know that the slightest change in my ride is noticeable from a second person in the car to a light mist on the road, yet many I know never feel any differences. I think they should make designated lanes for these autonomous cars and then make stricter licencing tests so that the bad/uninterested drivers go byebye

@Ascend3r precisely why an "autonomobile" is completely pointless. I don't see something like this ever becoming a standard...maybe a few extremely wealthy people and government officials...but even THAT is many many miles down the road (no pun intended).

James May said it best. Cars that drive you around have existed for years...they're called Taxi's. I mean I like the idea of these things...but what's the point? There will be errors in this system just as there are with a human behind the wheel, and inevitably, crashes will occur as well.
