Produced for Oiwi TV by Kamehameha Publishing and presented in both olelo Hawaii and English, Lau Nehenehe brings to life some of Hawaii's popular children's titles through animation, imagination, sound and story.

No ka Elepaio Kolohe, The Naughty Elepaio, is the first in a series of traditional Hawaiian stories retold for todays learners. In this bilingual tale, Elepaio pecks a hole in Kanaka's water gourd, provoking the man to throw a rock at him. Elepaio flits about the forest trying to get sympathy from the other birds. In the end, Elepaio learns that when you do bad things to others, bad things come back to you. This story, part of the Kuuna Series, is presented by Kamehameha Publishing in partnership with Hale Kuamoo Hawaiian Language Center at the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
