The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services created the HHS IDEA Lab to be the bridge between an older approach to government and a vision of a new, networked world, where value is found in an individual’s talents and ideas, as opposed to their position in a hierarchical structure. Susannah Fox leads the IDEA Lab (which stands for innovation, design, entrepreneurship, and action). Learn how HHS creates space for innovation within a huge federal agency — both the physical space of a lab, but also the conceptual space that allows people to dream, play, and experiment as they pursue the mission of improving the health of all Americans.
