"UFCW Local 5 Medical Cannabis Organized Labor Featuring AMCD Inc." is a video showing the latest developments in the unionization of the Medical Cannabis Industry.
Ron Lind tells us, "The UFCW Local 5 represents 26,000 Union members in the Monterey, San Francisco Bay Area in a wide range of industries, retail, retail food, food processing, and agriculture." Mr Lind states that the Union also represents the health industry and that organized Union workers are a "natural fit" when it comes to working in the Medical Cannabis industry. He says, "The Union is coming to the Medical Marijuana Industry."
AMCD Inc.'s UFCW Local 5 members introduce themselves and give insight into their roles union members. Carl Anderson, Executive Director AMCD Inc. and member UFCW Local 5 has been working tirelessly along with Ron Lind, President International Vice President UFCW 5 and Dan Rush, Director Cannabis Division and Special Operations Officer UFCW Local 5 to "unionize this budding industry". They are working to develop regulation guidelines for the Medical Cannabis Industry. Carl says the Medical Cannabis industry has, "come from a grey area into the light, as a legitimized industry. And with the help of the Union is here to stay and is destined to become a Unionized industry."
Matt Witemeyer, Cannabis Division Coordinator speaks out on UFCW Local 5 and their collective bargaining agreements that serve as the 1st line of defense in setting potential employment standards, moving away from the "plantation" in-home grows into standards that will dignify the Cannabis grows.
